Faroe Islands · Kingdom of Denmark

A waterfall.
With an ocean view.

A reminder to explore, with ideas to get you started.

At Múlafossur, water drops from green cliffs straight into the Atlantic. Above it, the village of Gásadalur sits between the mountains and the sea. Find a place to pause and watch where the waterfall meets the waves.

Lake Sørvágsvatn

A lake that seems
to float above the sea.

Walk to the viewpoint at Trælanípa and look across the lake towards the ocean. From here, the water seems to sit on top of the cliffs. Give yourself a moment to work out what you’re seeing.

Something to taste

Even the wind
helps with dinner.

For a taste of Faroese tradition, try ræst: fish or lamb dried and fermented in the island air. A distinctive flavour, shaped by the same weather as the landscape.
